6 Km a day keep Dr. away

In March 2008 I joined Delcam PLC. Most of the colleagues in Delcam were of age group 22-23 and I felt odd man out (not because I was 24 but because I was overweight). In the early days I used to go to coffee whenever I get stuck in assignment. Sooner I realized that machine coffee is worse thing one should ever drink - it is really mixture of Powder and hot water - and you gain lot of weight because of this.
My weight was almost 80Kg - shock!! to me.

Jitu (G2/ Jitendra Rane) my school friend was telling me same problem and suggested me a good idea - "Let us go to Wetal tekdi (Law college tekdi) every day". And we really started going there every day. First day was more than tiring, we could not think of any walk after reaching the mandir on the top, same thing happened for 1-2 weeks. In few days we realized that we are missing many "beauty spots" who come on the tekdi for walk since we do not go any further, so we started walking on Wetal Tekdi up to the "Akashvani station" in search of such spots and by our luck there were many.
In addition we were going to Sinhagad every Saturday or Sunday (Sunday was really better option because on Sunday we could get to see some public). In 3 months around June my weight was drastically reduced, almost 71-72. I was happy that I have reduced weight and also could reduce fat (at least flat ab - though nothing like 6 pack).

After that around Mid of June I started going to .NET class (evening 8.30 to 10.30) and could not go for morning walk. Suddenly I started having back-pain, initially I ignored it (as usual) but afterward it was paining like hell.
Then I went to UK - where I used to walk a lot, sometimes walk from Delcam office to City centre and sometimes I used to walk in Delcam campus for almost 1-2 hours. Weight was in good control and I was happy with it. In my 6 weeks stay in UK my back-pain was almost vanished but I gained lot of weight in the end (almost 300gm chocolate a day :( ).

After coming back home I started going to class again and my morning walk was almost stopped - also I almost stopped going to Sinhagad. With all this I need not say that my back-pain started again, this time it was more than hell. I talked to Dr. Gokhale sir (Dr. for human doctor and my teacher for .NET) regarding the back-pain problem. Sir suggested me simple thing - walk 6 km daily and tell me in a month (unfortunately I stopped going to class because of this), and to my surprise my back pain stopped (completely disappeared) in just 2-3 weeks. I almost forgot that I had back-pain. After few weeks I stopped going to walk for various reasons (really speaking laziness) and now the back-pain is back (though it does not pain like hell now a days).

So I started morning walk again in 2009. This time I have decided to go for morning walk alone - as it helps me for mind programming. Now a days I am going again to the Dahanukar colony - Cummins - Mahatma society. Hope I will continue this without fail.
