24 July 2011 to till date

I had never imagined that life can bring so sudden twists.

I was relaxing at home, after coming from Nrusinhawadi and suddenly I got a call saying "your family has met with accident". To my surprise the call was made from my sister's mobile and I was unable to speak to any of my family members. This should have given me idea that the accident is serious enough. I tried to remain calm, saw few other missed calls and contacted them. Got same information without additional details. Still hopeful that nothing will be serious, I called my friend Ketan to take me to Shirur (the place where family members were admitted). I do not wanted to risk riding in this situation when mind is not calm and also wanted to have car in case anybody needs to be shifted. Before Ketan came I prayed to almighty God just for a minute asking him that if someone has died then let it be my father and not my brother-in-law.
I tried calling all good friends and close relatives on my way and tried my best to get the real picture clear before I reach Shirur. Something that makes me positive in bad situation told me that what I heard is wrong. No one is dead, just that seriously injured. But at the same time I informed closed people to rush to Shirur knowing the seriousness of the accident.
What I saw in Shirur was surely disturbing and much more shocking than what I had thought. The 3 dead bodies were in government hospital. My sister had many glass pieces in her body. My father was seriously injured. My nephew had bandage around his Right eye - it looked as if he has lost his Right eye.
I do not know how come I got so much so help from all friends, family members and other local people. But the good thing is after that things really moved fast.
I thought 100 times before putting this post on public blog.. but something made me write this.
Just putting here few photos of the dear ones.

Vedang:
You were very very sweet. You knew what it means to enjoy 100%. You would do things you enjoy without thinking about the danger. Let it be seeing the valley standing at the edge or going to waterfall without worrying about the mud and slippery surface. May your soul rest in peace.

Vedang my 8 year old nephew, died in the accident.

Nandkumar:
You were more like the brother than the in-law. I do not have words to express how much help, love and affection I got from you. You always stood behind me in my difficult times. No doubt whoever I meet after accident speaks very high about you. May your soul rest in peace.
Nandkumar, my dear brother in law, died in the accident.

Sagar:
You were my younger brother, but I called you for advice more times. We attended classes together and we also prepared food together. Our age difference never stood between our friendship. I have lost adviser for so many things. May your soul rest in peace.
Sagar, my cousin brother. Died in the accident.

I ENJOY LONG RIDES, BUT ALWAYS TRY MY BEST TO FOLLOW THE TRAFFIC RULES AND BEST DRIVING PRACTICES. I KNOW MY BROTHER IN LAW WAS MUCH BETTER AT DRIVING THAN ME, HIS 1 LAKH+ KILOMETER DRIVING WITHOUT ACCIDENT BEFORE 24 JULY 2011 IS THE BEST PROOF ABOUT HIS DRIVING SKILLS. BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW PERFECT YOU DRIVE, IT ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW STUPIDLY OTHER DRIVERS DRIVE.
LET US AT LEAST TAKE CARE THAT WE DO OUR BEST WITH TRAFFIC RULES AND BEST PRACTICES.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH SERIOUS YOU ARE REGARDING YOUR LIFE, YOUR STUPIDITY SHOULD NOT CAUSE LOSS TO SOMEONE ELSE.
